This assessment-type is required to investigate an individual’s learning ability, learning strengths and weaknesses, and to identify if the individual has any Specific Learning Difficulty (e.g., Dyslexia, Dyscalculia, etc).
This assessment requires contact with school informants e.g., a teacher known to the young person, and/or school based reports of scholastic attainment e.g., performance reports.
This procedure involves:
- Administration of appropriate assessment to establish an individual’s intellectual functioning.
- Administration of appropriate test to assess their scholastic attainment e.g., reading, spelling, mathematics, and written expression.
- Provision of report, outlining recommendations for the individual, highlighting their strengths and weaknesses, with a diagnostic component where relevant e.g., Dyslexia.
